]]>Hi-Innovator is an initiative of Uganda’s National Social Security Fund (NSSF) that has established a start-up fund aimed at identifying and supporting small and growing businesses by extending catalytic seed funding, building the capacity of entrepreneurship support organisations to provide quality technical assistance and working with financing institutions to unlock affordable patient capital so that they can become more competitive.
The camp focused on building our business through goal setting, management, building business technical competencies, commercial viability, financial stand and compliance, telling a business strategy on one page and pitch practices. With this training, we are better positioned to manage your farm to scalable success and eventual sustainability.
Out of 2,913 participants, only 78 businesses (2%) were selected
80 of Uganda’s best entrepreneurs in agriculture, digital economy, and manufacturing pitch their way to success to 28 distinguished investment Committee members. The pitching provides tremendous feedback on our product which enables us to improve the product to further fit our clients’ preferences. In addition, it connects us to potential strategic partners that can we can leverage on and improve our service delivery.

We were impressed by the closed business figures where people declared the revenue that members obtained from each other.

]]>The post Jotham Cottages Farm, one of our babies, is taking shape. first appeared on Damba Kezaala Enterprises.
]]>On this day, we were glad to be part of the dedication service when the vision bearers visited.
Jotham Cottage Farm is a worthy ode to the Father and vision bearer of the farm who sought to create a refuge for healing for those in need of psycological help in an idyllic garden setting.
The farm has a vision to be an oasis for people to get away from the stressful places and rest and revive with the services the farm will provide including a chapel, serene prayer and meditation gardens, a child-friendly park, orchards, and a mixed farm.
The project seeks to create a farm retreat which continually and at all levels promotes healthy environment for the guests seeking refuge as well as the animals on a modest budget.
To achieve this vision, the farm seeks to develop in a phased manner towards having upto 5 cottages, 12 guest rooms, fully matured landscaped gardens, a fully equipped wellness centre, 300-piggery unit, a 400-unit rabbitry, a 2500-bird layer operation, a 2-cow dairy unit, and a 5-ton per season fishery unit.
This will ensure a consistent supply to meet the demand especially within the value-addition market.
Jotham Cottages Farm will not only be a farm, but also a place for prayer and healing for every weary soul. The main goal is not to deal with clients and workers only but create a big family out of all of them.
We look forward to realising this vision into reality.
Thank you very much

]]>We were selected by the Directorate of Industrial Training among the 12 experts to review the curriculum for landscape gardening.
By far, inexperienced human resource is the biggest challenge in the farming sector at production level.
With such practical curricular, we hope to grab the bull by the horn and release better trained staff to work and manage your agricultural projects.
Thank you very much.

Did you know that you can reduce your farm expenses by making your own IMO culture?
We spent our morning on day 2 of the IMO juice making journey when we are supposed to add an energy source to our already cultured organisms. In the next two weeks, it should be in use.
IMO use has often caused mixed reactions but our experience on both conventional versus IMO use is that this method of production, if used properly, is always a cheaper option in several aspects such as construction, maintenance, and labour costs.
The no smell result also makes it an ultimate option for those farming in small areas where the neighbors don’t need to inconvenienced.
Contact us soon for the on farm trainings with all your staff at very competitive rates. Thank you very much.

]]>The post How the diaspora can manage farming in Uganda. first appeared on Damba Kezaala Enterprises.
]]>It’s always obvious from their conversations that life in the diaspora would not be their best option if all was well back home. Nonetheless, they would be willing to invest as much as they wish but have been disappointed on a number of times when they tried doing so from a distance. Either the entrusted parties misused the resources, or the venture just didn’t work out.
These and more have been some of the major reasons for their lack of faith to try, our eventual failing on some of the trials.
But what can we do to address their concern?
First of all, our analysis of failing projects has been mainly because of lack of knowledge and correction supervision.
To address this, we have constantly taught our clients intensively before we even set foot on ground for any work. To us, background knowledge is power to any project and very key to success. This will save on many fatal losses.
The other unpopular, yet only sure way to manage, is for us to install a real time CCTV surveillance system. This is always put in very strategic points as we recommend. You should however be strict to the workers not to switch it off, or play games. They usually cover the cameras or disconnect the internet when they want to do something illegal. It should be a matter of emphasis on the side of the owner. This together with experienced and exposed recipients of the funds will always guarantee higher chances of success.
This should be part of your plan as you think of investing in Uganda. All opportunities are still available but only need the right approach.
Thank you very much
